Welcome to Connections for Success! This mailing list has been created to connect new and aspiring superintendents with a network of experienced superintendents in the field. The purpose of the mailing list is to promote learning among superintendents and aspiring superintendents, and to prepare future leaders for Alaskan schools through the assistance of a supportive network of current leaders. This is one way Alaska can "grow its own" leadership through the collaborative efforts of superintendents and the university. For the university, this mailing list brings increased transparency and involvement of stakeholders to the superintendent's certification program. This is a private listsev, and confidential to those who elect to participate. The CLEAR protocol, which was sent to subscribers in the first message about the listserv, will serve as the use policy. Participants are expected to adhere strictly to the CLEAR protocol, which emphasizes confidentiality and respect. Postings to the listserv are not to be shared with non-participants, cross posted to other mailing lists, or discussed in any other forum outside the group of participants. Eligibility for the mailing list is limited to the following groups: former mentors from the 2005 listserv; current and past superintendents of Alaskan school districts; aspiring superintendents who are completing or who have completed the internship in the UAA certification program. Participants may choose to have messages sent directly through their email addresses as messages are generated or to have the messages arrive in digest form, that is, all the messages of the day come in one digest message, once a day. (There are some days without messages, and some periods of high usage.) The listserv is administered by Susan Garton, Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership. Using Connectionsforsuccess
To post a message to all the list members, send email to connectionsforsuccess@lists.uaa.alaska.edu. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Connectionsforsuccess
Subscribe to Connectionsforsuccess by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
